Expose the Truth
If your employer has created a toxic, abusive, or illegal work environment—and the system won’t help—you can go public. Speaking out can protect others and pressure employers to change. But you’ve got to do it safely.
Why Go Public?
• Your voice can spark change, especially in an industry where abuse is hidden
• Some companies only take action when
their reputation is on the line
• Journalists can help tell your story —
and protect your identity
How to Leak Information Anonymously
1. Use a Burner Email or Encrypted Messaging
• Create a ProtonMail or Tutanota account (free, encrypted)
• Never use your work email or device
• Consider using Signal (app) to contact journalists privately
2. Remove Metadata from Files
• Before sending photos, screenshots, or documents:
• Use a metadata scrubber (like Metapho or ExifTool)
• Convert images to PDF or screenshot them again
3. Don’t Give Away Clues
• Avoid revealing your schedule, coworkers’ nicknames,
or writing style that could identify you
